Two months ago, when COVID-19 first broke out, my friends and I donated masks, protective gowns and other supplies from the UK to Hubei province (with generous support of professors and classmates from @cambridgeuniversity , where I lived for more than half a year). Now it is time to return the favor and help stop the rapid spread of the epidemic: Yesterday, working with friends at JD Foundation, we finalized our planned donation to people in the UK. Thanks to the massive efforts of different teams @jd_corporate , we’ve quickly collected 5 million masks, 50 invasive ventilators, and over 600,000 other items, including protective gowns, goggles and surgical gloves. The first batch of supplies will arrive in London on April 7th. A vast majority of medical supplies will be donated to the National Health Service and multiple local hospitals in the UK through British Embassy in Beijing. In addition, Chinese people currently residing in the UK can receive masks for free: from April 10th 10:00 am to April 12th 12:00pm (GMT) on the JD app (or via PC: https://global.jd.com/).
